POSITION TITLE: Manager - Safety-Security
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Security Department; Updating the Safety Program, Security and Emergency Management/ Response Programs in response to the changing goals and needs of the organization; Act as House-wide Safety Officer; Responsible for DNV NIAHO/ISO Standards compliance; Coordinates Safety Training; Heads up in-house, local, regional, state, and federal efforts to coordinate and plan disaster preparedness and emergency management/response.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the hospital Safety Program. Continually develops the Safety Program to the changing goals and needs of the organization. Acts as house-wide Safety Officer and chair of the hospital Safety Team.
- Responsible for house-wide compliance with all DNV ISO 9000/9001; Coordinates efforts of other Physical Environment to ensure continuous compliance. Acts as a hospital representative during regulatory inspections and surveys. Ensures compliance with standards of other regulatory agencies (OSHA, State Fire Marshal, etc.) as they apply to Safety Management.
- Serves on committees and attends meetings (in-house, community, regional, and state) as required to support and develop the Safety Management Program. Coordinates safety training and provides training materials as needed.
- Responsible for the hospital Security Program and Emergency Management/Response Program. Continually develops the Security and Emergency Management/Response Programs to the changing goals and needs of the organization.
- Responsible for the operation of the Security Department, including budgets, day-to-day operations, hiring, disciplinary actions, training, staffing/scheduling, policy creation and updates, conducting security assessments, overseeing security technology, etc.
- Ensures compliance to standards of other regulatory agencies as they apply to Security and Emergency Management/Response. Works directly with other Hospital leaders and local, state, and federal entities in coordinating Security and Emergency Management/Response activities.
- Demonstrates competence in relation to the defined mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of the organization. This will be apparent by ongoing completion of any or all of the following: proficiency testing, skill demonstration, practice of core standards for service excellence, and documentation review.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree, or appropriate experience; 3 years related leadership experience; Possession of valid Oregon driver’s license; Excellent driving record and ability to be insured by the hospital’s auto insurance policy; Familiarity with OSHA regulations as they apply to healthcare facilities; Familiarity with regulatory agency standards; Familiarity with fire code-related regulations; Proven strong managerial, business, and diplomatic skills; Strong oral and written communications skills; and Dedication to excellent customer service.
PREFERRED:
LIC/REG/CERT: Certified as a Healthcare Environmental Manager (CHEM) or equivalent (or obtain certification within 6 months)

This position is salaried.
PAY RANGE: $38.83 - $58.71
