If so, Town Sports International is looking for Instructors to join our growing team. Our Sports Club for Kids team is responsible for providing a safe and fun experience for kids by delivering quality programming. Additional responsibilities include being knowledgeable about Sports Club for Kids offerings and responding to member inquiries.

More about this role:
The Sports Clubs for Kids Instructor’s primary responsibility is to teach fun, safe, and educational program classes relevant to the program’s focus. Additional responsibilities include being knowledgeable about the Sports Clubs for Kids offerings and being able to respond to member inquiries. The Sports Clubs for Kids Instructor role achieves success through embodying our core competencies (Create the TSI Environment, Build a High Performing Team, Achieve Measurable Results).

Responsibilities include:
- Modeling and promoting our guiding principles through the Clubhouse Rules.
- Reviewing and adhering to all TSI documents including but not limited to policies and procedures, employee handbook, state supplement, codes of conduct, etc.
- Leading by example maintaining a positive attitude and a fun atmosphere while overseeing their assigned group.
Build a High Performing Team
Inspires, motivates and develops a team to reach their fullest potential, contributing to the ultimate success of the organization. We constantly improve ourselves, our processes and our procedures to provide a meaningful experience in the gym. We are connected to our members, clients and each other.
Responsibilities include:
- Guaranteeing participant’s safety at all times and providing first aid when necessary.
- Conducting classes that are fun, safe, and educational.
- Assisting with the set-up and clean-up of equipment and the activity space.
- Directly overseeing participants enrolled in the program.
- Communicating pertinent participation and parental issues to the appropriate parties.
- Staying informed of program offerings, session dates, pricing, and make-up policies.
- Cooperating as a team with your fellow co-workers to adhere to schedules and assigned work stations.
- Taking attendance regularly at the start of every class.
- Responding to member inquiries in a timely manner.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Achieve Measurable Results
Successfully and consistently exceeds goals that drive the member, employee and business categories of the organization; actions reflect a dedication to surpassing the expectations of both members and employees.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching participants new skills relevant to the focus of the class and program.
- Motivating children to participate in age appropriate activities.
- Building rapport with participants and parents to encourage a long-term relationship and participation in other offerings.
- Proudly supporting the training of new Sports Clubs for Kids Instructors.
Required Skills and Experience
- Child & Adult AED/CPR certified.
- Physical demands include ability to lift up to 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations, walk through all areas of the club, climbing stairs (where applicable), and bending and lifting (e.g. picking up towels, restacking weights, moving equipment as needed). The company reserves the right to change them as business needs require and that jobs may require other tasks as assigned to the employee by the company.
- Prior experience working with children.
- Ability to proficiently use our POS and membership system, timekeeping any other computer programs required to meet the business needs of the customer and TSI.
