JANITORIAL - L48

Keeps rooms throughout the building and grounds in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions:

  1. Cleans and polishes building fixtures and trim.
  2. De-ices walkways if needed.
  3. Keeps parking areas clean and swept of litter and other debris.
  4. Touches up paint on signs, if needed or instructed.
  5. Cleans conference rooms, lab areas, breakrooms, restrooms, corridors, stairways,  kitchens, and other work areas.
  6. Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, vacuums, and polishes floor.
  7. Dusts furniture and equipment.
  8. Polishes metalwork.
  9. Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
  10. Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
  11. Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
  12. Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  13. Recycles materials as instructed.
  14. Replenishes bathroom and breakroom supplies.
  15. Prunes and waters plants.
  16. Shovels snow in winter and cleans parking lot in summer.
  17. Sweeps docks and freezer areas.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Special Training/Skills:

Has ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  Has ability to print and speak simple sentences.  Has ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Has ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

This is an Hourly – Non-Exempt position with an hourly rate range of: $17.89 - $18.49.
