STOCK ROOM COORD - AK

SUMMARY

Coordinates activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions

  1. Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
  2. Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
  3. Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported nonusable, slow moving, and excess stock.
  4. Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
  5. Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
  6. Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  7. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  8. Issues written and oral instructions.
  9. Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  10. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  11. Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
  12. Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.
  13. Adjusts errors and complaints.

Additional Responsibilities:   

  1. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
  2. Acquire knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  3. Notify designated personnel of any environmental and safety incidents, or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and or Safety training.

Education:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

N/A

Experience:

One year experience working in a maintenance environment.  Proficient with inventory control measures.

Special Training/Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, word processing software and presentation software.

Work Environment:    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Mental Activities:    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use decision making skills, creativity, independent judgment, discretion, and problem analysis. The employee will occasionally use interpersonal skills and team work.  The employee will regularly speak and read English, and use customer service skills.
