WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR - AK

SUMMARY

Coordinates and supervises all warehouse activities daily. Responsible for supervising the receiving, warehousing, samples, cycle count program and any other functions involving the warehouse crews in a manner consistent with company policies, service and cost objectives:

Essential Functions

  1. Establishes/upholds operational procedures for all activities involving warehouse personnel such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current and accurate.
  2. Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
  3. Prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
  4. Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner to support the required needs of the facility.
  5. Directs salvage of damaged or used material.
  6. Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities to include safety, operations, orientation and other meetings to insure Trident is in compliance with internal policies and any government regulations.

Additional Responsibilities:   

  1. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
  2. Acquire knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  3. Notify designated personnel of any environmental and safety incidents, or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and or Safety training.

Education:

4-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Training/Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, word processing software and presentation software. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standard and non-standard situations..

Work Environment:   

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to extreme low temperatures, moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:   

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Mental Activities:      

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to Read, speak, write and understand English and use customer service skills.  The employee is frequently required to utilize interpersonal, teamwork, decision making skills, independent judgment, discretion, problem analysis, supervision and advanced programming skills.
