WELDER - LEAD

SUMMARY

Maintains target quality of job progress by regularly monitoring and evaluating job throughout the work shift.  Ensures job moves at optimum speed by ordering materials at appropriate times and at appropriate levels.

Essential Functions

  1. Sets up job site with welding equipment according to standards.
  2. Ensures and maintains productivity in workforce.
  3. Maintains job site safety by adhering to Trident and government safety standards.
  4. Troubleshoots any problems with welding equipment.
  5. Maintains flow of materials needed on jobs.

Additional Responsibilities:   

  1. Fills out daily time sheets.
  2. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
  3. Acquire knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  4. Notify designated personnel of any environmental and safety incidents, or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and or Safety training.

Education:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must pass Trident Weld Test

Special Training/Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may be in areas that has a risk of exposure exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.  The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision.

Mental Activities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use teamwork skills and understand English.  The employee is frequently required to use decision making skills and speak English.  The employee is occasionally required to use interpersonal, customer service mentoring, training and supervision skills.  The employee will occasionally be required to read and write English, and use independent judgment, discretion problem analysis.
