LFS, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Trident Seafoods.  LFS has locations in Bellingham, Seattle and Poulsbo, WA and Anchorage, Cordova, Dutch Harbor, Homer, Kenai, Sitka, Naknek and Dillingham, AK.

Job Summary:  Assists the Corporate Distribution Manager in the day to day operations of an LFS location. Maintains high levels of accuracy in day-to-day operations, provides impeccable customer service to our clients; has knowledge and expertise in distribution, shipping and inventory control by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the day-to-day duties of the local warehouse team by setting standards and monitoring behaviors.
  • Hands on responsibility for receiving, stocking, shipping product.
  • Schedule freight pickups and deliveries.
  • Acts as a liaison between location and corporate inventory control manager to solve discrepancies.
  • Maintain inventory control and take an active role in the monthly/annual cycle count process.
  • Organize product in warehouse to create efficient flow of product to be picked, shipped, and received
  • Responsible for training, scheduling, and supervising subordinates.
  • Performs as a subject matter expert for all warehouse functions.
  • Assign, review and maintain cycle counts for all warehouse managed materials.
  • Investigate and reconcile any discrepancies that are discovered.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in education opportunities; reading professional publications; maintain personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Motivate staff to make an effective and efficient team.

 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
  • Must be forklift certified; or able to become forklift certified
  • Communicates weekly with Corporate Distribution Manager regarding workload and priorities

Requirements

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years of related warehouse experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must be forklift certified; or able to become forklift certified.

Must have valid Driver’s License and clean driving record

Special Training/Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent; and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel and talk to hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to forty pounds.

Mental Activities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use customer service skills and frequently required to use teamwork and interpersonal skills.
