Provides technical support for the hardware and software in use on the production floor.  Technical support includes, but is not limited to, installation and configuration of software and hardware, troubleshooting of problems with computers and network connectivity and providing problem resolution. Support will be provided remotely, as well as, at production locations. Performs routine analysis to include evaluation of hardware and software based on business processes and end user criteria. Directly interacts with assigned managers and staff to resolve hardware and software-based issues, as well as providing automation services as needed in support of strategic and operational objectives.  Develops and maintains system specifications and technical documentation.  Monitors the team support ticketing queue and manages individual queue. Acts as liaison between Information Technology vendors and Trident Seafoods as needed. 

In this position, the successful candidate will travel to remote Alaska sites. Anticipated travel is 30-40%. 


  1. Maintains factory support software, including production inventory, labeling, factory and energy management, etc.
  2. Maintains and supports factory equipment, including touch screens, scanners, printers, access points, cabling, etc.
  3. Identifies project requirements by interviewing stakeholders, analyzing operations, determining project scope, and documenting results.
  4. Maintains systems by researching and resolving problems, maintaining system integrity and administering security.
  5. Installs basic IT hardware such as cables, control boxes and camera systems in factory environment with lifts, etc. 

Application Support and Reporting:

  • Coordinates with user liaisons to assess departmental needs and objectives.
  • Reviews changes and upcoming developments in software applications.
  • Creates documentation for supported systems and enhancements.
  • Designs, tests and modifies applications, modules and/or approaches and required enhancements.
  • Performs basic analysis and troubleshooting for various applications.
  • Performs maintenance/upgrades as assigned per supported application.
  • Provides business line stakeholders with information and data needed for planning, analysis, decision making, and the execution of the programs. This position works closely with business line stakeholders to understand key business objectives and data requirements.

Minimum Requirements


Associate's Degree in IT Systems or Computer Science 

Two to three years' experience in an IT support function.
