Benefits & Payroll Coordinator


The Benefits and Payroll Coordinator will provide frontline administrative and operational support for both the Corporate Service Center and retail locationsThe role will partner with BevMo!’s HR Manager and Payroll supervisor to execute current organizational benefits and payroll processes. The Benefits & Payroll Coordinator will administer benefits and weekly payroll processing while identifying opportunities to improve processes.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:         




  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits and escalate complex matters when needed
  • Support benefits enrollments New Hires, and Qualifying Life Events
  • Respond to Unemployment Claims, State Benefits Audits and Employment Verification processes
  • Respond to subpoenas, working with internal and external partners, prepare requested records for delivery
  • Assist employees with time off questions as well as audit paid time off (PTO) balances to ensure accuracy
  • Conduct weekly audits, sending reports to applicable team members
  • Assist with leave of absence and workers compensation administration




  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll maters and escalate complex matters when needed
  • Follow up with Store Managers regarding employee payroll issues
  • Assist with performing daily payroll-related tasks as assigned
  • Assist with processing manual checks and pay card requests
  • Provide backup support for wage garnishments
  • Research stale dated checks
  • Review Quarterly Tax Block report and follow up with employees as needed
  • Process bi-weekly patrol on a rotating basis
  • Conduct audits of various payroll related information to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare all physical payroll checks to be sent to stores
  • Assist as needed in processing of Payroll Support items to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely


Other Responsibilities:


  • Execute audits of employee timecards on a weekly basis
  • Create and distribute standardized reports and produce ad-hoc reports as needed
  • Assist with special projects in Benefits and Payroll technology processes
  • Assist with password resets in MyADP and Kronos Workforce Dimensions
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Other duties as required

  • Analytical Skills:  Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Adaptability demonstrated through working effectively in a fast-paced environment as plans, conditions, or situations change
  • Excellent Excel skills

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years of payroll and benefits experience
  • Experience with payroll, timekeeping, and HRIS software; preferably Kronos Workforce Dimensions and ADP Vantage
  • Retail industry experience strongly preferred
