We want to train you to be our in-house splicing expert!

Essential Functions

  1. Engage with customers to select appropriate product to use for their project.
  2. Responsible for fabrication of synthetic and wire rope for custom projects that may include wire rope splicing or mechanical swages with or without eyes. Double braid and multiple stranded lines for commercial and sports vessels.
  3. Select appropriate raw materials to complete the job.
  4. Pull rope, chain and cable for customers and other salespeople.
  5. Stocking and maintaining inventory levels on rope, chain and wire products.
  6. Work with purchasing team to maintain inventory levels.
  7. Understand and follow the companies inventory, POS and location management systems.
  8. Ability to enter customer orders/invoices into computer POS system.
  9. Perform all duties to meet quality standards.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety guidelines.
  11. Move and handle materials as needed using hand truck or forklift.
  12. Support the sales and production departments as necessary.
  13. Knot tying and rope/wire splicing experience a plus.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment for work being performed; understand job hazards and which PPE is required.
  2. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Preferred: Professional certification or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Training/Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to recognize and identify different types of ropes and know their applications.  

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to  moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
