This Master Data Lead - SAP will manage the Master Data processes, technology, training, and internal controls for Trident Foods, globally. This person will establish plans and objectives for maintaining Material Master data integrity and will be the gatekeeper for Data Governance best practices at the company. This role promotes Data Governance and helps build a collective, shared vision for focused, consistent, and on-going data quality initiatives.

The individual in this role will establishes a reputation for being a “go-to” resource across the company to support master data challenges and new requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement master data management capabilities and best practices aligned with Trident Seafoods’ business goals and priorities.
  • Establish and operationalize the appropriate master data operating model by building effective partnerships with business domains, ensuring clear alignment on roles and responsibilities.
  • Leverage effective relationship building among business partners to understand the data needs, data dependencies and identify opportunities for business process standardization.
  • Develop cross-functional alignment to define data models, standardize data sets and sources, and govern master data and their respective attributes.
  • Understand the technology landscape of transactional systems, data management and master data layer, to analytics and consuming applications.
  • Define and own relevant data management principles and policies.
  • Contribute to critical business decisions including data models, data acquisitions, data retention policies, and defining data life cycle policies.
  • Identify and report maintenance related issues, analyze root causes and resolve issues
  • Identify risks and drive continuous improvements in data management through technological innovation, operational improvement, and championing adoption.
  • Conduct full integration testing of new or changed business/technical processes. Develop business/technical cycle tests for use by stakeholder community.
  • Maintain in-depth industry knowledge.
  • Provide training and guidance regarding master data processes, ensure compliance.
  • Ability to travel on business without restrictions (approximately 20% of the time), including international assignments.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions 
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings

Minimum Requirements



  • 10+ years working experience in related data discipline
  • Minimum 6 years of Master Data Governance in an SAP environment
  • Experience with (S/4HANA) is highly desired
  • Deep understanding of master data management, data governance, and associated technologies
  • Proven experience in establishing and operationalizing data management capabilities (not only maintaining)
  • Experience in a leadership role in a multi-year business transformation program would be a great plus
  • Experience working in both waterfall and Agile implementation methodologies


  • Bachelor’s degree (e.g. Information Systems, Technical, or Business Administration)
