Receiving Clerk -Optical Lab- Distribution center and photo center

Description of position

Count and sign for delivered goods, verifying freight bill and purchase order. Inspect condition of goods for quality. Key counts to computer system, print and affix to pallet tags.

Daily tasks and responsibilities

• Sets dock restraints of lock trailer to receiving dock by pushing button and monitoring lights.

• Verifies carton count, order units, and/or sell units. Counts goods in receiving units, verifies counts to freight bill and purchase orders. Signs freight bill as first receiver.

• Transports cartons to receiving inspection area using cart, pallet jack or hand truck. Opens cartons and places contents on worktable.

• Scans product with handheld computer/scanning gun to verify UPC and item number. Prints UPC labels for products with bad scan labels and re-labels.

• Counts and checks merchandise from boxes individually against freight bill. Opens boxes verify style, check condition and verify print on eyeglasses. Writes item number on box. Signs freight bill as the second receiver.

• Keys received goods into computer. Puts freight bills in received bin, gathers into envelope at end of day and files by day (date).

• Prints pallet tags and affixes to boxes. Stacks boxes on cart and takes to hand-picking area to be stocked, or stacks on steel shelves for later storage in picking areas. Sets unprinted eyeglasses aside for printing.

• Assists in other areas of the Lab as necessary.

Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry-specific skills that candidates must possess)

• Education/Training: High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Permits/Licenses/Certifications: None.

• Experience: Employees with Costco merchandise return or vendor experience will have preference over other candidates.

• Knowledge/Skills: Successful completion of Costco math test.
