Interpreting Ability is Preferred but not Required:

  • Qualified applicants, who successfully pass an Interpreter Assessment administered by the Department of Health, will receive an additional monthly stipend in addition to the beginning salary
  • Ability to interpret to Limited English Proficiency patients in first person in clinical and community settings. 
  • Proficiently interpret and effectively relay information to both patient and provider in both English and Spanish.
  • Possess the ability to communicate verbally and in writing information in both English and Spanish to patients. 

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and experience equivalent to two years of full-time customer service delivery and/or clerical/office work. 
  • Substitution of experience for education:  Qualifying full-time customer service delivery service and/or clerical/office support work may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. 
  • Substitution of education for experience:  Course work credit received from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years (i.e., 45 quarter hours may substitute for 1 full year of the required experience).
