We are seeking Maintenance Mechanics to join our hard working and fast-paced team. The Maintenance Mechanic repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical equipment, freezers and/or facilities in an orderly, timely, and cost-conscious manner. This position has a solid understanding of production and packaging equipment operation and is skilled in repairs and preventative maintenance (PMs).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Performs routine maintenance, repair and installation of all production and packaging equipment
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment’s productivity to minimize downtime or malfunctions. Some tasks are required to be performed within rigid timeframes to maximize bakery productivity.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments
  • Ensure all work areas are clean, safe and following company GMPs
  • Maintains accurate and timely records of work performed on work orders, maintenance calls and preventative maintenance reports
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and maintains a safe working environment
  • Responds to maintenance, line stoppage calls and emergency repairs quickly and efficiently
  • Additional duties and/or responsibilities as assigned
  • Work all shifts including graveyard and weekends
  • Ability to speak, write and understand the English language
  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Minimum one-year manufacturing maintenance preferred
  • Must operate in a professional manner and support and adhere to all Gluten Free policies, procedures and company values
  • Possesses a good mechanical aptitude
  • Must be flexible and respond to department needs with a sense of urgency as they arise
  • Has a good understanding of production and packaging equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate man-lift equipment (with proper training)
  • Ability to work both individually and as a member of a team
  • Ability to work at heights, using ladders, scissor lifts, boom lift and other equipment. Work may be performed on roof, with appropriate PPE provided
  • Repetitive lifting, up to 50lbs frequently, up to 75lbs occasionally. Regular bending, kneeling and grasping 
  • Stand/walk for 8 or more hours
  • Ability to wear all required PPE and follow all established safety procedures. Required PPE is based upon job tasks and/or location
  • Ability to work on occasion in hot (110°) and cold (-20°) environments for short periods of time.
