The Research Analyst will assist with Health Canada regulated clinical trials (mainly for long COVID or perimenopause research) and positron emission tomography imaging studies. This position involves assisting with protocol preparations, grant preparations as well as their submission, assisting with setting up projects to meet Health Canada regulations, assisting with organizing and preparing correspondence with research ethics boards and Health Canada, recruiting and screening study participants, bringing study participants through clinical trials and/or scanning, including associated handling of blood/urine samples gathered, transporting natural health products to participants, organizing data for analysis, and doing routine data and/or standardized image analysis. The Research Analyst will also read protocols to check for regulatory and REB compliance. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with ensuring milestone compliance, tracking project expenses, and supporting the preparation of presentations and project reports for scientific and non-scientific audiences. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. The candidates will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, respect, teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. This role may require travel to study participant homes (for clinical trials) and/or some early morning and evening hours to accommodate scan times available (for imaging studies). A driver’s license and access to a car to drive to participant homes is preferred.

This position is located at 250 College Street but will involve travel to 1001 Queen Street West and/or other collaborating hospitals in the Greater Toronto Area.

The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, one (1) year of research experience in conducting Health Canada regulated studies, and a strong practical knowledge of ethical requirements and Health Canada regulations. The candidate must have experience with conducting the structured clinical interview for DSM5 in clients with major depressive disorder and common comorbid illnesses or equivalent experience, such as using similar questionnaires in protocols for people with mental illness. Strong skills in participant recruitment for studies are required. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates require the ability to work effectively in various settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
