Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Chief Content Officer, this position is responsible for programming and administration of the LA Philharmonic’s orchestral series at Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl, as well as management of the Dudamel Fellowship program. This position will work as a member of the programming team to develop and produce all aspects of the full range of programming presented by the LA Philharmonic Association across all venues.
Essential Functions:
- In collaboration with Chief Content Officer, guide the overall strategic direction of orchestral programming, including advising on conductor, artist and repertoire selection.
- Serve as lead project manager for assigned portfolio of programming including orchestral performances and productions at Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl, Symphonies for Youth, and more.
- Manage and produce all elements of complex artistic projects, operas, festivals and initiatives from inception to performance, including but not limited to recommending and engaging artists and designers, negotiating contracts, budgeting and tracking spending, scheduling, and overseeing rehearsals and performances.
- Serve as part of the Association’s programming team to design, coordinate and support cross- genre programming for festivals and projects.
- Oversee the Dudamel Conducting Fellowship Program. Identify rising talent, coordinate selection process and conducting assignments, as well as oversee the day to day artistic needs of all Fellows and cover conductors.
- Collaborate and communicate artist/programing needs to relevant internal parties, working closely with Orchestra Management, Production, Library, Marketing, Finance, and Development to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of programming.
- Manage artist performance, commission and recording contracts in conjunction with Staff Attorney including issuing contract requests and amending contract riders, as well as disseminating necessary information to Artist Servicing.
- Review and update marketing and PR materials for accuracy.
- Maintain excellent working relationship with variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Interact with artists and conductors, including entertaining as needed.
- Share in senior concert duty responsibilities, including nights and weekends as necessary.

- Strong skills in project management, organization, information synthesis and problem-solving
- Proven negotiation and contract management skills

- Strong written and verbal communication skills at management and staff levels both formally and informally
- Ability to develop and sustain professional relationships and collaborate internally and externally for the benefit of the organization
- Strong attention to detail with demonstrable ability to multi-task and execute plans effectively in fast paced environment
- Flexible schedule which includes ability to provide weekend and evening concert coverage as needed in addition to business day responsibilities
- Professional manager level desktop computing proficiency
- Regular and reliable attendance
