WAREHOUSE WORKER - L48

Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions:

  1. Reads production schedule, or work order to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  2. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  3. Scans materials in and out of production and stages materials in specified sequence based on work orders.
  4. Sorts and organizes materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size or type. Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
  5. Fills work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production.
  6. Records amounts of materials received or distributed and performs physical inventories/cycle counting ingredients and packaging as necessary.
  7. Uses computer to enter records
  8. Prepares obsolete or defective ingredients or packaging for disposal and/or return.
  9. Opens bales, crates, and other containers.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must be forklift certified, or able to become forklift certified.  May require valid Driver’s License.

Experience:

Experience in similar food industry warehouse positions preferred.

Special Training/Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Posess knowledge of warehousing and Inventory systems (bar coding/scanning).

Work Environment:    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Mental Activities:       While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use customer service skills and frequently required to use teamwork and interpersonal skills.
