WAREHOUSE WORKER-AK-LFS

Job SummaryReceives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions:

  • Loads and unloads containers with freight and/or finished goods.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas
  • Sorts and organizes materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size and shape
  • Uses computer and bar codes reader to scan materials in and out of production and create shipping documents
  • Reads production schedule, or work order to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Experience in operating man and forklifts, shrink wrap machine and other normal warehouse equipment (Forklift certified/or can be trained to be certified)
  • Have valid driver’s license
  • Have basic knowledge of all aspects of warehousing, receiving, shipping and inventory control
  • Performs physical inventories, cycle counts and aids in quality control

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
  • Must be forklift certified; or able to become forklift certified

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must be forklift certified; or able to become forklift certified.

May require valid Driver’s License

Special Training/Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Knowledge of warehousing and inventory systems.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds
