Under general oversight and direction, this individual will support more routine, repetitive EHS activities that are typically delegated through others. Your Responsibilities as an EHS Consultant and Auditor (time split between our client's site in Lansing and our Novi office):

  • Daily communication with our clients to ensure candid communication; adherence to safe work practices; and to facilitate rapidly addressing questions or concerns as part of the daily operation;
  • Collect environmental samples (air, water, soil, building materials);
  • Gather, interpret and analyze laboratory data
  • Coordinate the implementation of client projects within set organizational procedures and standards in regards to quality, time and budget targets.
  • Assist with the design and development of compliance programs and systems for various environmental projects throughout the greater Novi and Lansing area.
  • Prepare proposals, develop project work scope, and manage project budgets.
    • Manage projects valued up to $200,000.
  • Interact with staff, clients, and contractors in a professional manner.
  • Implement and maintain company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental health and safety regulations.
  • Draft reports that are grammatically correct, clearly written, technically competent, and client ready upon submittal for senior review.
  • Prepare client specific technical reports
  • Follow up on corrective actions from incident investigations
  • Researching products, best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Executes tasks in support of EHS programs with strong direction and guidance from the program managers and business partners.  The work may include: inventories, program audits, training logistics, data collection, follow up on corrective actions, recordkeeping, researching requirements, and general administrative support and EHS program coordination.
  • Assists with compliance assurance audits, including data collection, employee interviews and area walkthroughs.
  • Assists with regulatory inspections and internal/external audits.

Minimum Requirements


What we're looking for:

  • BA/BS in Environmental Science/Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or other related field
  • 5+ years of proven technical experience
  • Self-driven
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good safety record and understanding of safe work practices
  • Experience with Deltek Vision preferred
