The Grants Associate will function as an integral part of the Grants Services team for Lutheran Social Service of MN (LSS). This person will support the Grants Services team to secure grants from diverse sources, both private and public, that provide vital financial support for LSS programs and services statewide. The Grants Associate will provide team coordination, technical assistance and assist in grant-related activities for both short- and long-term program needs. The Grants Associate will be responsible for select grants and office administrative functions.

Minimum Requirements

 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 1-3 years’ experience in nonprofit development
  • Experience in social services/human services grant writing is preferred
  • Familiarity with public and private funding programs.
  • Excellent writing, research, proofreading, copy editing skills and attention to detail required
  • Strong computer proficiency with excellent command of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint; Raiser’s Edge database, and other technologies required
  • Ability to work and prioritize independently according to a demanding, fast-paced, deadline-driven production schedule. Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and persuasive communications skills
  • Skilled in managing multiple and varied projects simultaneously
  • Excellent initiative taker and problem-solving skills
  • Must be self-motivated, self-starter and have the desire and ability to successfully work independently and as part of a team.
