As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Lead In-Home you will be responsible to participate as a member of the team; foster an environment which supports individuals in pursuit of their hopes, dreams and personal outcomes. Address any situations that may arise and ensure a safe and secure environment. This position will provide guidance, encouragement, support, comfort, security and safety for the individuals we support through direct interaction with the individual. Support is provided within the individuals’ private home to promote independence.

 

Minimum Requirements

 
  • High school degree, GED or experience working with vulnerable populations is required
  • Experience and/or training of at least one year with individuals with disabilities is required
  • Medication administration training when required (may be obtained after hire)
  • First Aid training if required and CPR Certificate  (may be obtained after hire)
  • Mental Health Certification or other related certification  may be required (may be obtained after hire)
  • Bureau of Criminal Affairs background study clearance is required
  • Driver’s license required. Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record required
  • Ability to read, write, and use computer required
  • Basic math and problem solving skills required
  • Ability to recognize boundaries
  • Ability to suggest and implement strategies to enhance the service
  • Computer skills that support LSS  technology
  • Patience, self-control and flexibility
