Pay - $14.62-$16.25/hour

I.  Purpose of Job

Maintains all facilities on park property. Plans and executes the day-to-day plans for maintaining all park facilities.   Must be able to work holidays, weekends and nights during special events.

II. Essential Job Duties 

A.  Maintaining park facilities  

  • Cleans all park grounds and facilities daily. Involves cleaning facilities restrooms, removing trash from grounds and emptying trashcans.
  • Restocks amenities in all facilities as needed including light bulbs and other routine items.
  • Maintains general upkeep of all facilities including painting, pressure washing, installing fixtures, repairing sinks, installing trim and other minor maintenance duties as required.
  • Performs general inspections and upkeep of all equipment used.

III. Other Job Duties

Performs other job duties as assigned, including:

  • Perform related duties and responsibilities to assist other employees in the department as required.

IV. Primary Job Challenges

Primary challenges of this position include dealing with human and animal waste.

V.  Equipment Operated

These employees operate the following on a weekly basis:  blowers, pressure washers, back pack blowers, various hand tools, mini-packer, bobcat, and golf carts.

Knows how to complete daily work assignments in a timely manner as prescribed.  Is able to determine and decide upon procedures to be implemented in maintaining safety codes and standards.  Knows how to determine and ensure the safety of work sites.  Is skilled in the operation of a variety of equipment utilized in the performance of assigned duties. Is knowledgeable of the language and terminology used within the department.

Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out multi-step instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems by choosing from several known choices with frequent reliance on how problems were dealt with before.

Physical Demands: Performance of the essential duties of this job requires the incumbent to:

Work Environment:  Performance of the essential duties of this job requires:                                                                     

  • Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions (non-weather).
  • Occasional Work near moving mechanical parts
  • Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles
  • Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Regular exposure to bio-hazards (human and animal waste)
  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions
  • Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock

The work environment is moderately noisy (examples: business office with computers and printers, small engines). 

Minimum Requirements


VIII. Qualifications

Education and Experience: The required knowledge, skill, and abilities to satisfactorily perform job duties are normally acquired through attainment of a High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

TN Driver’s License required.

Pay - $14.62-$16.25/hour
