POSITION SUMMARY

Performs repair and preventive maintenance on biomedical and diagnostic imaging equipment to ensure safe and appropriate operations.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
• Knowledge of electronic theory, technology and test equipment
• Knowledge of radiologic theory and technology
• Knowledge of safety precautions when servicing high voltages and working with ionizing radiation
• Knowledge of mechanical systems and tools
• Ability to analyze electronic, electromechanical and mechanical equipment
• Ability to isolate, test and replace defective parts
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance inspections
• Ability to maintain accurate records of repairs, calibration and tests
• Ability to run diagnostic programs
• Skill in testing electronic, radiologic and mechanical equipment
• Skill in manual dexterity, hand to eye coordination and color vision

• Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
• Knowledge of basic networking theory
• Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the
position
• Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

  • Associates degree in biomedical equipment technology, electronics or military courses in biomedical equipment technology is highly desirable. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

EXPERIENCE
(Essential job requirements listed in bold)

  • A minimum of five years related experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment and diagnostic imaging systems
