 Job Summary:

We are seeking a Database Administrator to play a significant role in the design, implementation and maintenance of our database environments and data dictionaries in compliance with application specifications and operating procedures. In addition, this position monitors daily database activities and overall operation, performance, growth and tuning configurations as well as the security of the databases.

Essential Functions:

•Participates in the design, implementation, maintenance and management of database environments. •Monitors database security by controlling and monitoring user access.

•Researches, reviews and participates in the development of database designs for new projects.

•Assists development teams to create database structures and objects and promote changes across environments.

•Performs root cause analysis of problems; identifies solutions and makes recommendations; takes appropriate remedial steps towards resolution.

•Assists with task automation and process improvements, as directed.

•Maintains established service level agreements to meet customer expectations and quality standards.

•Participates in planning and designing, then develops and maintains the overall data strategy, data architecture, data models, principles, and standards, to support high performing, mission critical database platforms.

•Lead strategic planning processes including forecasting, research and selection of new tools and technologies

•Develops and maintains the database configuration documentation.

•Develops and executes capacity planning operations.

•Monitors the performance and growth and prepares entities, attributes, and relationships for required transaction and data volumes.

•Plan, Design, Develop and maintain backup/restore and disaster recovery plans

Work availability Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Work Experience Required:

•4+ years of hands-on SQL Server administration experience

•3+ years of T-SQL programming and performance tuning experience

•Proven track record managing SQL Server 2008 and 2012 instances in standalone, clustered, physical and virtual configurations

•Experience with SQL Server performance tuning in all environments

•Experience with MS SQL replication, Always-On and other third party high availability solutions

•Experience with various backup/restore and disaster recovery solutions

•Strong knowledge and experience with computer hardware including servers, networks, SAN technologies, I/O subsystems, etc.

•Solid experience and troubleshooting skills Windows 2008 and Windows 2012 operating systems

Work Experience Preferred:

•Experience with data warehouse design, performance and scalability operations.

•Experience with all SQL Server component services (e.g. SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)

•Experience with other DBMS platforms, including DB2, MySQL and Oracle.

•Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services in standalone and SharePoint integrated configurations •Experience with SQL Server 2014 in a production environment.

 

Education Required:

•BS in Computer Engineering/Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

•Microsoft SQL Server certifications and professional course completions are pluses
