GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Audio Systems Engineer is responsible for the design and integration aspect of digital audio messaging systems and public address systems. The Engineer shall oversee the preparation of project submittals and works closely with the Project Managers and other engineers to ensure design integrity and functionality. The position is accountable to handle system design coordination where necessary to meet the customer’s requirements.  It supports all aspects of the project as needed including: design development, integration, deployment and testing of the various audio systems associated with the project.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for engineering, design, and configuration aspects of digital audio messaging system and public address systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex problems and manage the customers’ requirements of the project
  • Create and maintain customer system software libraries, procedures manuals and supporting documentation
  • Aid in preparation, updating and storage of design and construction drawings
  • Maintains engineering work schedules and coordinates work with Project Managers
  • Updates and/or works closely with CAD department to prepare and update system drawings
  • Maintains good communications between Project Managers and engineering staff
  • Supports Project Managers and engineers with installation, staging and configuration data used for estimates
  • Attends and lead project related meetings and site visits as needed

Minimum Requirements

 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with team members
  • Strong written communications skills required
  • Strong organizational skills. Must have the ability to prioritize workload effectively
  • Ability to interpret complex documents
  • Able to create CAD drawings or lead CAD technicians in changing/evolving designs
  • Prepare, update, store, understand contract and system design drawings and successfully apply to projects

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Field Engineers
  • Trainee Engineers
  • CAD Administrators
  • CAD Operators/Engineering Technicians

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS degree in Electrical, Computer, IT or Electronics Engineering
  • Certified Technology Specialist ("CTS"), required
  • Minimum of five years relevant experience
  • Experience of integrated system design
  • Experience in the transportation sector preferred
  • Database administration and design experience preferred
  • Network integration of digital audio messaging
  • Harman Media Architecture desired
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure preferred (specifically in Active Directory and Domain deployment)
  • Microsoft Certifications preferred
  • Cisco Certifications preferred
