This position directs the accounting and control functions, reporting the results of operations and provides chronological systems.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, direct and coordinate the accounting operations of the company
  • Maintain the company's system of accounts, books and records for all transactions and assets.
  • Issue a timely and complete financial reporting package to internal and external users.
  • Develop and manage financial policies, procedures and controls adequate for operating within a SOX compliant environment.
  • Oversee external audit processes, including annual financial audit and quarterly reviews.
  • Analyze financial performance to operating plans.
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including design of an organizational structure adequate to meet the group’s targets and objectives.

  • Provides advice and counsel on matters to the Chief Financial Officer.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA required
  • Must demonstrate proficient working knowledge of GAAP, including experience with technical areas such as ASC 606 and ASC 842
  • 8-10 years minimum experience; including management and supervision of staff
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong process skills
  • Ability to work closely with Senior Management team

Physical Ability

Occasional travel by airplane and automobile in conducting business is necessary.  Ability to communicate orally with management, and other co-workers, both individually and in front of a group is crucial.  Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.

Sitting for extended periods is common.  Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.

No heavy lifting is expected.  Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally may be required.  Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines.

Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business problems.  Able to apply statistical calculations, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory as well as algebra, linear equations, and other analytics as required.  Able to understand and utilize financial reports and legal documents to conduct business.

Sensory Requirements

Some tasks require oral communications ability and visual perception and discrimination.

Environmental Factors

The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting.  Activities include extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer monitor and/or calculator.
