The In-N-Out Burger Community Engagement team has an excellent opportunity for an Executive Director/Foundation Manager for the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation, located in the Irvine, CA office.  The Executive Director is responsible for managing a team and overseeing the strategic plan, programs, grant process and administration of the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation in fulfillment of the mission to help those who are enslaved by any person or substance. This includes being a champion in the fight against addiction and human trafficking while expanding relationships in the community, with donors, and the In-N-Out Burger family.

This position will be a member of the Community Engagement Department, which includes the In-N-Out Burger Foundation, Slave 2 Nothing Foundation, Corporate Giving, Volunteer and Charitable Events teams. The Executive Director will report directly to the Community Engagement Department Manager, as well as working closely with the President of In-N-Out Burger.


General Responsibilities

Fulfill the Organization’s mission

  • Responsible for leading the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation (S2N) in a manner that supports and guides In-N-Out Burger’s mission/purpose statement as defined by the company
  • Organize the mission and strategy of S2N; ensure that the mission is fulfilled through the grant process
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization
  • Work to increase and maintain the foundation's impact and visibility
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to fulfill the mission of S2N

Direct and Manage

  • Set a collaborative leadership example that will encourage cooperation and good working relationships with members of the nonprofit community
  • Oversee and implement the organization’s operations; appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are in line with the mission of the Foundation
  • Supervise a team of direct reports; Responsible for the hiring, managing and development of associates committed to the Foundation’s mission
  • Develop a strategic plan and participate in vetting organizations for grants including in person site visits

Public Relations and Fundraising

  • Ensures all fundraising efforts stay on track, attends fundraising events, builds and maintains long-term relationships with key donors and potential donors
  • Oversee internal and external communication efforts including social media content
  • Approve all communications materials to make sure they adhere to the foundation's desired message and image.  Materials may include newsletters, fundraising letters and event flyers, financial reports, press releases and other marketing and advertising materials

Budgeting and Financials

  • Plan and manage operations of annual budget
  • Manage the financial health of the foundation, by creating resources to support its fiscal integrity, budget, and financials; maintain organization in a positive financial position
  • Keep department and company information confidential

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Work closely with the President of In-N-Out Burger, CFO, S2N Board of Directors and the Community Engagement Team
  • Communicate across multiple departments on various projects at the same time
  • Develop strong working relationships throughout the company, and with outside organizations and vendors, as an extension of the Community Engagement department
  • Professionally represent In-N-Out Burger in the non-profit community, Foundation, and broader communities as needed


Work Schedule + Benefits

  • Full-time position, Exempt
  • Office Hours in Irvine, CA: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
  • Department needs will call for occasional evenings and weekends
  • On-site presence required at community engagement events and fundraisers
  • Travel time: It is anticipated that 15-20% of the work time will be spent in the field

Minimum Requirements




  • Bachelor’s degree in non-profit, business, social work, or similar field; Master’s degree in related field is preferred
  • Five (5) or more years Foundation or nonprofit experience, with five (5) or more years in a leadership role
  • Experience with working with human trafficking and/or substance addiction
  • Foundation and/or financial granting experience desired
  • Skilled manager; Demonstrated ability to manage direct reports and collaborate with others on the team
  • Ability to effectively communicate the foundation mission to associates, donors, volunteers and the community
  • Active fundraising and financial management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills; strong work ethic

ABOUT Slave 2 Nothing Foundation

In 2016, the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation was established to educate and assist in solutions to eliminate human trafficking as well as focus on those needing treatment, rehabilitation and prevention from drug/alcohol abuse.
