Brake Technician

A Brake Technician is responsible for the diagnoses and replacement of brake pads on vehicles of all makes and models. One should be able to adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers on an as-required basis. We are looking for an Automotive Technician with more than just strong mechanical skills. Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an automotive technician specializing in brakes and alignment  
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications required
  • Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Working knowledge of shop equipment such as: wheel and tire equipment, braking system and alignment system

 

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Automotive or tech school experience

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Be able to diagnose and repair and change brakes on vehicles of all makes and models
  • Be able to properly and accurately align any car using a Hunter alignment machine
  • Possess a working knowledge of the alignment system
  • Install and perform tire maintenance
  • Ability to perform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Properly secure vehicle to lift to ensure safe operation
  • Properly dismount and remount tires and wheels securely on vehicle
  • Operate independently and as a team member
  • Perform and demonstrate Customer Service Satisfaction
  • Will follow direction and adhere to policies and procedures, while exhibiting a neat and clean appearance.

  • Must be able to safely operate shop equipment, demonstrate the ability to learn and repeat basic mechanical repairs, and comply with Town Fair Tire, OSHA and EPA policies.

 

Non-Essential Job Functions:

  • Paperwork – any and all related requirements
  • Customer Relations
  • Housekeeping, maintained daily.
  • Aware of the latest automotive technologies and be a persistent problem solver. 
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.

 

Safety Requirements:

  • Perform all safety related items as per the Employee Safety Manual
  • Learn and maintain all lifting procedures
  • Learn and maintain all general housekeeping and ensure daily performance
  • Report all accidents and incidents immediately upon them taking place to your direct supervisor

 

Weight Requirements:

  • Lift a minimum of forty-five (45) pounds
  • Perform repeated and repetitive movement consistent within the tire industry
