The Community Engagement Strategist will implement effective outreach and social media strategies that meet our communities' needs and contract deliverables by increasing our reach and engaging others in conversation through Social Media platforms. In this dynamic role, the individual will report to the Managing Director of the department but work collaboratively with the department Program Coordinators to outline outreach activities and suggest new opportunities to meet recruitment goals

Overview

· Oversee content development for messages across YPS social channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) by working with department staff who will contribute content · Identify and develop content strategy and editorial calendar to support YPS programs around major events, marketing campaigns and other brand activities

· Develop messaging and campaigns by working with Department staff and Housing Works marketing support staff

· Implement new digital outreach initiatives for leads generated by social media by linking to tracking mechanisms and coordinating staff coverage

· Encourage awareness of LGBTQ+ health, mental health and advocacy concerns through content including expanding our network of influencers in order to spread the message

· Develop standards and implement trainings for staff receiving leads via social medial and other outreach activities including Customer Service and Data Entry/Customer Relations Management

· Create virtual spaces for LGBTQ+ populations that grows our audience and increases program in-takes

· Provide well-constructed feedback that will help develop outreach staff with various job functions with appropriate and timely documentation.

· Incorporate Housing Works Viral Load Suppression Program, HIV/STI testing, PrEP Program and Hepatitis C Program into outreach messaging

· Lead biweekly social media meetings with the YPS team to organize content development and delivery

· Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts based on programmatic goals

· Generates and disseminates reports that inform decision making for Social Media efforts

· Manage YPS social media calendar including developing and implementing organic content (posts, stories, IG Live) that speaks to youth audience

· Interact with the youth population via messaging channels

· Maintain current knowledge of social media trends

· Utilize Housing Works social media scheduling and analytics tools

· Adhere to Housing Works brand standards with regard to messaging and content

· Maintain HIPAA compliance

Minimum Requirements

 

· Bachelor's Degree in related field or B.S. combined with work experience in related field of marketing or communication

· Minimum 3-4 years professional experience working with LGBTQ youth populations in areas of outreach, engagement, group facilitation and care navigation

· Knowledge ofHIV/AIDS, homelessness, substance use and mental illness,LGBT youth issues andYMSMnetworks/hot spots

· Ability to problem-solve effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor

· Ability to take initiative and work independently while valuing teamwork and Housing Works Community Values

· Knowledgeable of all social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok

· Familiar with content creation tools including Canva

· Strong copywriting/proofreading skills
