District Asset Protection Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The District Asset Protection Manager is responsible for mitigating safety and security related risks for the organization through the implementation of programs, procedures, policies and training. This role promotes a safe store environment while addressing and minimizing loss caused by shrink, theft and fraud in assigned stores, across multiple locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In partnership with store leadership, deliver training, guidance and support to ensure the full implementation of Asset Protection (AP) and Safety programs

  • Conduct regular store visits to identify AP related improvement opportunities, develop solutions and provide support needed for implementation

  • Using the audit process as a vehicle to promote learning, complete audits as assigned, share findings with store leadership and ensure the resolution of outstanding issues

  • Maintain a consistent focus on opportunities to prevent injuries/accidents and improve safe working conditions 

  • Complete accident/injury investigations, execute root cause analysis and follow through with remediation efforts

  • Ensure safety committee and huddle meetings are held regularly and attend meetings to provide training/guidance to store leadership and associates on safety topics.

  • Develop and implement plans to improve inventory accuracy and reduce shrink through audits, observations and analysis. Support the stores in preparation and execution of Physical Inventories.

  • Lead and conduct the initiation, development, and resolution of internal investigations related to theft and fraud. Leverage the Aspect program to identify and investigate point of sale (POS) fraud 

  • Deliver Asset Protection support for new store locations including initial security assessments, AP training and design/installation of security systems

  • Provide assistance and direction to store leadership in emergency situations

  • Foster positive relationships between stores and law enforcement and Emergency Services

  • Communicate with Regional Asset Protection Director and Director of AP on matters related to safety, security and investigations

  • Attend store leadership and operations meetings to partner with store leadership and supervisors regarding AP issues including safety, security, inventory accuracy, shrink, theft and fraud

  • Ensure new store leaders are properly trained in the standard procedures and processes around store and associate safety, loss prevention and shrink, and overall protection of Company assets by conducting Safety and Loss Prevention assessments and sign-offs prior to leaders’ initial store assignment

  • Ensure the security and safeness of assigned store locations on an ongoing basis by identifying and maintaining physical security and safety equipment, including but not limited to CCTV equipment, locking hardware, burglar and fire alarm systems. Make recommendations to upgrade such physical security equipment as necessary to ensure adequate security and hardening of assigned buildings as the need arises

Requirements

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred

  • 5 years experience in multi-store Loss Prevention Management required

  • Proficient in Google platform (i.e., drive, docs, sites, slides, sheets)

  • Must have a clean police record and satisfactorily pass the requirements of a background check and drug test

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record

  • Must have strong investigative skills to detect and develop information on internal and external theft activity in the assigned district

  • Must have strong analytical skills to assess exception reporting and POS reports to detect theft activity

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Duties are performed across a range of stores in a designated market. The market may change according to Company size and need.

  • Travel may be required to multiple stores in a given week, including travel to two or more stores in a single day. This necessitates driving in a vehicle for extensive periods of time in varying weather conditions. Some travel outside of the assigned market and to the Corporate Office is periodically required.

  • Individuals must have the ability to move around the sales floor in a retail environment for an extended period of time.

  • Conditions for performing job functions will change, depending on the constraints of each store location, as well as internal and external environmental conditions. Some work in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Some sedentary, and frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
