 POSITION TITLE:  MyPicks Clerk

 

SUMMARY OF POSITION:  Exceed our customers’ evolving expectations by providing World Class support to all locations in order to provide a pleasant and rewarding shopping experience.  Our MyPicks clerk is responsible for assembling and transporting online grocery orders accurately and efficiently.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to represent A Culture of Caring and The Pursuit of ExcellenceÔ  through the support of Big Y’s Mission and Vision.
  2. Must possess excellent customer service skills (e.g., phone etiquette, listening skills, and follow-through, etc.).
  3. Willingness to learn and perform other tasks as needed. 
  4. Must project a clean and professional appearance.
  5. Must be a team player with a positive attitude and businesslike conduct.
  6. Ability to operate within Company policies, procedures, and standards.
  7. Ability to work a flexible schedule in accordance with the needs of the department.
  8. Attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  9. On-site pallet jack training.
  10. Ability to learn and utilize computer applications.
  11. Must be 18 years of age.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Exceed our customers’ evolving expectations by providing World Class support in order to provide a pleasant and rewarding experience.
  2. Ability to represent Big Y by working together with fellow Big Y employees to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  3. Operate a forklift and pallet jack.
  4. Accurately and efficiently select a variety of product of the highest quality and freshness.
  5. Load items into the OSR during product slotting while evaluating items at this time i.e. quality, freshness, damages, accuracies etc.
  6. Adhere to all Company and government regulations regarding safety and sanitation.
  7. Adhere to shrink measures, including controlling waste, damaged goods and reporting theft.
  8. Clean work area, including sweeping warehouse aisles, removing garbage and cleaning damaged merchandise.
  9. Level pallet slots.
  10. Engage in and encourage continuous improvement through ideas and innovation (e.g., Chairman’s Challenge).
  11. Adhere to all government employment and labor regulations, as well as all Company policies and procedures (e.g., employment laws concerning minors, harassment, discrimination, etc.).
  12. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, as well as Company policies and procedures.
  13. Adhere to all government safety regulations, as well as Company policies and procedures.
  14. Adhere to all Company loss prevention policies and procedures.
  15. Complete all training requirements by respective due dates.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Lifting 50 lb. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lb.
  2. Continuously standing, walking, driving, bending, squatting, reaching, handling, balancing and feeling.  Occasionally sitting, crawling, climbing, kneeling or crouching.
  3. Frequently working in cold temperatures from 34 to 55 degrees and in warm temperatures from 85 to 90 degrees.
