The LA Phil Store Sales Associate, reporting to the Director, Retail Services, thrives in a fast-paced customer centric retail environment. As a frontline representative for the organization, they provide a friendly, knowledgeable and professional experience in the day-to-day retail sales operation at the iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall


Position Elements:

  • Customer Service – Provide a customer focused, knowledgeable and enjoyable retail experience by welcoming and assisting customers, selling products based on events, and striving to meet sales goals
  • Store operations – Administering point of sale operations, facilitating store and display maintenance, following opening/closing procedures
  • Inventory Control – Assist with inventory management and merchandising displays. Accurately checks in, labels merchandise and keep inventory organized
  • Information – Be available to respond to questions accurately about the LA Phil, Hollywood Bowl, The Ford performances, learning programs, activities, leased events and venues.
  • Visual Merchandising– Restock, maintain organized merchandise displays and back stock, and clean displays throughout the shift as needed
  • Signings and Special Events – Assist with event operations including equipment set up/tear down and sales process

Minimum Requirements

  • Enjoys working with the public and being part of a sales team, demonstrates strong customer engagement skills
  • Previous retail sales experience with POS systems required
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, busy atmosphere, with the ability to provides reliable and accurate information, demonstrates initiative, and deliver quality results
  • Flexible schedule required for day, evening and weekend shifts with the ability to work nights, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled
  • Two years of retail experience with an emphasis on selling music, art, accessories, and gifts a plus
  • Ability to bend, stand and walk for up to the entire shift

Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs, stand for 4+ hours, walk, pull weighted carts of 30+ lbs, bend and stretch

  • Dedication and commitment to engage in and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the staff, vendors, and within interactions with the surrounding community is a must
  • Secondary language fluency is a plus


COVID Workplace Safety Requirements

This position will require you to interact with employees, patrons, vendors and others who may or may not be vaccinated or recently tested. You will be required to wear personal protection equipment (PPE) required by the LA County Department of Public Health protocols and the LA Phil.  You agree to comply at all times with the LA Phil’s COVID-19 Prevention Plan, including testing and vaccination requirements.
