To direct and supervise the sanitation crews, sanitation practices and the sanitation processes for the site, equipment at the bakery.  Supervise the teams shift rosters and attendance, sets daily schedules, and ensures all daily team job duties are performed in a safe, timely and effective manner.


  • Communicates and recommends to Management any necessary changes in production methods or programs to maintain or elevate food safety and sanitation.
  • Leads an effective sanitation program in coordination with Food Safety Manager.
  • Maintains record keeping and scheduling of personnel.
  • Operates within specified procedures and policies as required by the company.
  • Ensures all work areas are clean, safe, understands and follows company GMP’s.
  • Ensures that sanitation and receiving staff work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assists Receiving in the proper inspection and storage of incoming ingredients for evidence of contamination.
  • Orders and maintains inventory on cleaning, safety and other supplies and equipment.
  • Delegates and assigns tasks necessary for completion of Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Coordinates and practices ongoing continuous improvement of sanitary operations with Food Safety Manager.
  • Ensures training of sanitation and receiving employees, scheduling, cleaning, and following of pest control procedures.
  • Practices effective communication skills with all internal departments and external customers.
  • Oversight of Standard Operating Practices within area of responsibility.

  • Demonstrates the ability to perform all assigned tasks independently with minimum supervision.
  • Keep engineering and supervision informed of any equipment issues impacting Food Safety or Quality.
  • Ensure all cleaning chemicals are secure and used according to manufacturer’s label, properly diluted & employees training in proper usage.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experienced and trained in sanitation chemical and operation practices
  • Experience in ordering, and managing sanitation supplies
  • Must have and be able to demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts based on organizational needs.
  • 2-3 years of experience in food manufacturing facility preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a recent sanitor role
  • GED or High School Diploma required.
  • Obtain or pursue certifications in Food Safety & Pest Management as directed by the Food Safety Manager.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
