Responsible for supervising bakery production which includes product output, product quality, labor scheduling, troubleshooting food safety, team safety, team wellbeing and moral. The position also includes administrative duties and working with all other departments for the smooth operation of the plant.

  • Directs all activities within an assigned bakery production area/s to operating standards within approved staffing limits.
  • To ensure all safety precautions and standard safety procedures are being followed
  • Assists in solving technical problems which may affect quality or the continuity of the operation and escalate these through correct channels.
  • Communicates, trains, and motivates employees to create a common goal and attitude that will achieve operating objectives with a team concept.
  • Support and adherence to CCBC Cultural and Ethical Core Values
  • Be always a model of appropriate leadership behaviors & communication with all personnel
  • Reports to Production Manager any stoppage, inconsistency of dough, and equipment problems that may occur. Prepares maintenance, sanitation, and safety work orders as necessary.
  • Prepares and updates employee schedules utilizing computer and Kronos software
  • Enforces GMPs and Company policies
  • Ensure that products, packaging, equipment and processes are within the Quality Standards and SOP’s
  • Work effectively with all other departments team members, the management team and with other bakery locations
  • Assures compliance with all appropriate government regulations
  • Preparation for and participation in outside agency and/or customer audits
  • Actively seeking and presenting ways to improve processes and efficiencies
  • Additional duties and/or responsibilities as assigned
  • A minimum five (5) years’ experience in bakery operations
  • Working knowledge of bakery equipment and packing a equipment preferred
  • Completion of AIB training courses in baking operations and basic technical baking skills essential.
  • A track record of bakery operations administration essential
  • Experience with bakery SQF procedures, documentation and audits.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Product Suite and Kronos
  • Minimum of two (2) years related supervisory experience.
  • Proven management or supervisory skills to train, direct and/or lead team or shift of assigned employees.
  • Proven ability to train, mentor and when necessary hold employees accountable.
  • Ability to work with other departments and supervisors to achieve goals for bakery operations.
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred
