JOB SUMMARY

Supervises Security Officers, Lead Officers and other company personnel at assigned high-profile client site(s).   Supervises company personnel, including assigning work, coaching, and discipline, as defined by client contract. May perform duties of Security Officer within scope of assignment.  Specific duties or tasks may vary and be documented separately.

This supervisory role may utilize rank or other hierarchy structure as appropriate for the assignment

Duties Include

  1. Functions as a supervisor of Security Officers, Lead Officers and other company personnel assigned to one or more posts at client site(s); acts to ensure that all post instructions are followed, that established rounds are completed, and that adequate reports are filed; notifies proper authorities and client in emergency situations.
  2. Responsible for maintaining and updating post instructions as appropriate.  Works with Company and Client management as applicable
  3. Trains, verifies and coaches personnel to ensure the highest levels of customer service; ensure positive, courteous and diplomatic interactions toward Client employees, visitors, and the public while performing duties.
  4. Coaches and disciplines personnel as appropriate; seeks advice from company management or designated representatives as appropriate; meets personally with employees and documents coaching and disciplinary actions.
  5. Trains Security Officers and other company personnel; reviews post orders and other details of assignments with subordinates.
  6. Assists in the submission of payroll and personnel information to the company as designated.
  7. In conjunction with company management or designated representatives ensures adequate coverage of all posts and positions. Communicates and briefs personnel timely related to special circumstances, special events and any other appropriate activity impacting operations.
  8. Prepares, files and submits various reports as required.
  9. Inspects posts as scheduled and meets with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities; ensures personnel are properly uniformed, alert, and present a neat appearance.
  10. Meets with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to provide assurance that all security requirements are being met and to provide quality customer service.
  11. As assigned, in accordance with applicable company policies and procedures and in compliance with state and federal laws, carries out supervisory duties that can include some or all of the following: interviewing, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; making hiring and termination recommendations.
  12. May perform the duties of a Security Officer in accord with post instructions and company policy.
  13. Performs additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary in order to achieve assigned business objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY (Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference depending upon the nature of the position)

Basic Qualifications

  • US Citizenship preferred
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years of Armed Security / Law Enforcement experience OR two (2) years of honorable service with the US Armed Forces.

Education | Experience

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Experience in physical security, military service, law enforcement or a related field, sufficient to meet the minimum requirements for state and local licensing and/or site standards as established by the company.

Background Prerequisites

Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, may need to meet Physical examination requirements per assignment and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements

Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing)

  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.
  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet requirements for specific skills, certifications or authorizations specified for the assigned site.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual, emotional or confrontational circumstances.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.
  • Ability to provide high quality customer service and service delivery orientation
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.
  • Skill in staff supervision, including assigning work and providing training and discipline.

  • Knowledge of business operations management and human resources administration.
  • Ability to synthesize business / financial data and develop recommendations.

WORKING CONDITIONS (Physical/Mental Demands)

Certain state's posting requirements ask for additional detail.  Depending on geography, site assignment, rank structure and / or experience: 

Wage range for this position is $18 - 40.00 / hr.   Some positions may include a Health and Welfare benefit range from $4.00-$6.00 where applicable.             

  • Additional compensation of $1.00 - $3.00 may be available at sites requiring a Secret or Top-Secret clearance.                                   
  • Some site assignments may include a shift differential of an additional $0.25 - $1.50 per hour.

  • The paid leave for full time employees is from 80-240 hours / year based on longevity in the position, and sick leave is a minimum of 56 hours per year for a full-time employee
