PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB SUMMARY

 

To input and monitor information in Electronic Requisition System and perform purchasing buyer duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Input information into Electronic Requisition System.

 

  1. Review all electronic requisitions for accuracy.

 

  1. Process, print and distribute purchase orders.

 

  1. Post purchase order batches as required.

 

  1. Perform cost comparison analyses for goods and services.

 

  1. Act as back up to the Receptionist on a scheduled basis.

 

  1. Contact vendors for emergency services.

 

  1. Monitor copier and postage equipment to determine usage readings.

 

  1. Assist Purchasing Manager with RFPs and RFQs.

 

  1. Maintain inventory on supplies for Finance Department, Copier Room and Break Room.

 

  1. Perform monthly life safety checks on emergency fixtures on GLEAMNS Campus.

 

  1. Perform other related accounting and clerical duties as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

None

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Associate's Degree preferred with a minimum 1-2 years general accounting and purchasing experience or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the job description.

 

Knowledge of computer software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, ETC) and general accounting and purchasing principles.

 

EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES

 

Working knowledge of computer and modern office equipment.

Must have ability to communicate with a variety of people and work independently.  Must be cooperative and display a positive attitude towards working with other staff members.  Must exercise discretion and sound judgment in the performance of assigned duties.
