We are seeking a HR Manager to join our hard working and fast-paced team. The HR Manager will be responsible for developing, communicating and implementing philosophies, strategies, programs, and approaches directed to achieve optimum utilization of Human Resources.  This includes employee (and labor relations where needed), compensation administration, employee performance/ competency evaluations, recruiting, training, communications, safety and health and compliance with all legal, regulatory and corporate requirements. This role is responsible for oversight and implementation of divisional human resource functions for a diverse group of salaried and hourly employees.  The incumbent will be detail-oriented and a team player with a proven ability to make sound judgments, who can function in a high paced environment.  A key asset will be the ability to work efficiently while juggling multiple projects with multiple stakeholders.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:    

  • Reviews production demand to plan department operations. Maximizes efficiency by planning production and labor in the most cost-effective way.  
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards. Ensures compliance with quality assurance, GMPs, safety and other company programs and procedures.
  • Assist the Human Resources Department with Employee Relations or Employee disciplinary.
  • Maintains clean and organized work area.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Prepares and presents production data to management team such as OT reports, waste reports and production demand
  • Manages production department within budgeted guidelines.
  • Participates as an active member of management team.
  • Actively involved in safety and production meetings, make suggestions to improve equipment, operations. Enforces GMP policies
  • Conducts department meetings, follows up on assigned tasks, and takes corrective actions when needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience of years of Production Manager

 

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, general business periodicals, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, groups of managers, clients, customers, regulatory agencies and members of the business community. Working knowledge of Spanish preferred.

 

MATH ABILITY:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, area, circumference, volume and percent, and to interpret graphs and diagrams. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word word processing software, Excel spreadsheet software and Outlook email software. Knowledge of inventory control and manufacturing software helpful.

No certifications needed.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages up to 6 subordinate supervisors who may supervise up to 200 employees in the Production and Packaging departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
