PRIMARY PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY

 

To travel to and from various locations and perform clerical duties, including typing and filing documents.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

1.      Delivers mail and packages to and from the Head Start/Early Head Start centers in our nine-county service area.

 

2.      Monitors fax machine for incoming faxes and distributes documents to appropriate staff.

 

3.      Scans reports, correspondence, and other documents to center-level employees.

 

4.      Runs business errands to various locations, such as post office, office supply stores, doctor offices, etc.

 

5.      Arranges catering for business events and picks up meals, if necessary.

 

6.      Picks up children’s files from Head Start/Early Head Start centers and brings them to the main office for monitoring purposes.

 

7.      Provides switchboard relief as needed.

 

8.      Performs other everyday office tasks.

 

9.     Performs all other duties assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

None.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

High School Diploma and one year of clerical experience.  Will accept a combination of education and experience commensurate with the job description.  Must have a valid driver’s license.

 

 

EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES

 

Working knowledge of computer and modern office equipment.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

This position requires travel to and from center locations. 

 

 

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

 

Must have ability to communicate with a variety of people, work independently, organize, and maintain strict confidentiality of program data.  Must be cooperative and display a positive attitude towards working as a team with other staff members.  Must exercise discretion and sound judgment in the performance of assigned duties.
