Rate: $8/hr plus tips

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Saganing Food & Beverage Supervisor, serve guests in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and take beverage orders from guests.

  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.

  • Remain attentive to the guests throughout the gaming experience while adhering to or exceeding guest service standards.

  • Clean and stock service station and work area; fill ice dispensers; perform daily opening and closing cleaning and maintenance duties.

  • Report any maintenance or housekeeping discrepancies to management in a prompt manner.

  • Maintain cleanliness standards by removing waste in service area; adhere to the company, state, and local health board requirements.

  • Promote and sell products and amenities of Saganing Eagles Landing Casino and Hotel.

  • Practice Saganing Hospitality Rules with every internal and external guest.

  • Assist in maintaining a pleasant environment by removing and disposing of trash, cleaning up spills and clutter, and keeping work areas organized.

  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times.Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.

  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:

  • Contact with team members and Food and Beverage management to ensure guest satisfaction.

  • Contact with guests to ensure accommodations are fulfilled.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of food service principles.

  • Knowledge of basic math and arithmetic.

  • Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with delivery of food and drinks.

  • Required to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and walking.

  • Reach with arms and hands above shoulder level.

  • Normal auditory, visual acuity, and verbal communications skills.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.   

     

    Work Environment:

  • Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public.Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino and constant machine and crowd noise.

  • Must possess sufficient stamina to work under all types of conditions including hot/cold and to lift, carry, push, or pull a variety of equipment and materials.

  • Frequent walking in slippery and wet areas.

  • Exposure to various chemicals.

  • Extended hours and irregular shifts are required.

  • Knowledge of all beverage menu items, non-alcoholic, and alcoholic. 

  • Skill in providing excellent guest service.

  • Ability to create a friendly atmosphere and demonstrate excellent guest service.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.

  • Ability to deal with the public under stressful situations.

  • Ability to be a team player.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.

     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Serving experience.

 

License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

  • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) Certification as part of SELC’s commitment to responsible alcohol service throughout employment.

  • Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
