Patron Access Assistance Service (PAAS) Attendant

Department: Hollywood Bowl Operations
FLSA Grade: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
The PAAS attendant, reporting to the PAAS Supervisor, provides cart service and wheelchair pushes to patrons who require assistance at the Hollywood Bowl and Ford Theatre.
Position Elements:
- Aid patrons with disabilities during ingress and egress navigating the facility
- Help transport patrons who require the service of an electric cart
- Push patrons in wheelchairs up and down hilly terrain
- Ensure the safety of patrons and passengers while operating carts and pushing wheelchairs
- Manage and direct traffic program in Lot B drop off area while wearing a reflective vest
- Assist in emergency medical transport at direction of medical personnel
- Wear personal protective equipment at all times during medical transport; may encounter bio fluids during the process
- Adhere to all safety rules and procedures
- General duties as assigned by supervisor
- Keep accurate time records and abide by the meal and rest period policy
- Assist other departments when necessary and as directed by a supervisor
- Respond to a wide range of customer service issues with sensitivity and care

Position Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Existing knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the following:
- Layout of the Bowl and Ford
- Event times and program information
- Proper electric cart and wheelchair procedures and safety rules
- Proper documentation of ridership
- Continued awareness of proximity and pedestrians
- Evacuation/Emergency procedures
- Ability to:
- Work outside
- Push patrons in wheelchairs up and down hilly terrain
- Bend, stand, and walk (including hilly terrain and stairs) for up to the duration of entire work shift
- Lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Communicate across departments
- For Cart Operators:
- Current Driver’s License
- 2-3 years of driving experience
- Proper training of cart operation

This position will require you to interact with employees, patrons, vendors and others who may or may not be vaccinated or recently tested. You will be required to wear personal protection equipment (PPE) required by the LA County Department of Public Health protocols and the LA Phil. You agree to comply at all times with the LA Phil’s COVID-19 Prevention Plan, including testing and vaccination requirements.
