Assists in financial planning and control by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions:

  1. Analyzes company financial status, designs and develops timely financial plan and procedures based on analysis of data, and discusses financial options with relevant company personnel to determine present and future financial performance.
  2. Manage and/or assist in product pricing, researching economic variances, and forecast economic outcomes.
  3. Oversee financial projects from start to finish.  Ensuring that costs and prices are setup completely and timely.
  4. Work with databases for use in analyzing future plans and forecasts.  A basic knowledge of or willingness to learn Microsoft Access is highly beneficial.
  5. Assists with annual budgeting/forecasting process: resets formulas and updates financial templates for the New Year, inputs margin assumptions for line item budgeting, and reviews data input for accuracy.
  6. Review manufacturing data for risks: supply, obsolete inventory and expiring products.  Provide guidance to Category Managers and Finance for potential risks and opportunities.
  7. Work collaboratively with Category Managers, Supply Chain, R&D, Sales, Finance and Plant Controllers to determine product costs, margins and margin reviews.
  8. Populates and maintains data in financial reporting system and audit to ensure integrity of data structures.  
  9. Builds models to track and identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly.
  10. Assists with the publishing of monthly financial reporting using PowerPoint.
  11. Work with Finance Team to complete various month end tasks.

Minimum Requirements

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience/Education: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Accounting/Finance required with two years’ experience in a process-manufacturing environment; or four years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills: 

  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills 
  • Proficient using Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and various analytical formulas 
  • Experience or willingness to learn relational databases (Access, SQL, Power BI) 
  • Solid working understanding of other software products (Word, PowerPoint, One Note, Outlook, Skype, Teams) 
  • Ability to work independently and meet expected deadlines 
  • Good communication skills and team player 

Special Training/Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.  Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.    Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situation. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, word processing software and presentation software.  Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel experience.

Work Environment:
This job takes place in a typical office environment and subject to moderate noise. 

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Mental Activities:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use teamwork skills.  The employee is frequently required to use decision making skills. The employee is occasionally required to use interpersonal, customer service, mentoring, problem analysis, training and supervision skills.  The employee will occasionally be required to exercise independent judgment, and use discretion.
