Facilitates movement of in-transit cargo, and appropriate export documentation where necessary and oversees accuracy of inventory information by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions:

  1. Communicates directly with Alaska plants as well as non-company cold storages regarding export and domestic shipments and product details.
  2. Handles in-transit order processes for export and domestic shipments.  Facilitates south-bound domestic receiving for Alaska cargo.  Prepares export ocean bills of lading as needed.
  3. Researches and problem solves, performs inventory transactions and adjustments as needed in response to research.  
  4. Coordinates purchases of non-company production, handling purchase order processes, receiving cargo according to inventory standards for saleable product, prepares related outgoing payment requests.
  5. Evaluates discrepancies identified on month-end inventory reconciliations, researches, resolves and makes necessary inventory adjustments. 
  6. Handles raw material supply to internal plants as needed.
  7. Initiates cargo booking and communicates shipment timing as needed.
  8. Completes order processes required by JDE order system. 
  9. Supports foreign offices and sales people as required. 
  10. Participates in coverage for and training of other team members as needed.
  11. Provides back-up coverage to reception staff as necessary.

Minimum Requirements



Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Training/Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, word processing software and presentation software.

Work Environment:

This job takes place in a typical business office environment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Mental Activities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use customer service skills. The employee is frequently required to use interpersonal and teamwork skills. The employee is required to use creativity, independent judgment, discretion, problem analysis, supervision and decision making skills.
