  1. Works as part of a team of 2-4 individuals providing compliance support and direction to operations at shore-based facilities in Alaska and the lower 48, as well as  vessels in Alaska and the West Coast.
  2. Plans, implements and conducts programs to train managers and employees in compliance requirements and practices.
  3. Assists Operations in maintaining compliance with air quality, wastewater, solid and hazardous waste, oil handing and storm water permits, and issues.
  4. Tracks laws and regulations that might affect the organization’s policies or practices.
  5. Gathers information in support of environmental permit application development and regulatory reports.
  6. Ability to plan, implement, and manage environmental auditing and compliance services, programs, and processes.
  7. Frequently interacts with Federal, State, and local agencies to ensure environmental compliance.
  8. Travel up to 25% of time to provide compliance support, training and auditing of facilities and vessels, including in remote areas of Alaska.
  9. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Requirements




  • Familiarity with Clean Air Act & Clean Water Act.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, and Excel, especially)


  • Familiarity with food manufacturing facilities with a preference for Seafood Processing Facilities in Alaska
  • Familiarity with Alaska, Washington, Minnesota, or Georgia environmental laws and regulations
  • Familiarity with Geographic Information System programs
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and an ability to work with all levels of the organization
  • A successful candidate will possess some technical expertise in environmental, organic, or chemical sciences to interpret and complete environmental reports, as well as strong written communication with an eye for detail and editing.
  • An ideal candidate must be very organized, energetic, and willing to work beyond an office-only environment.

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in environmental, safety, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Required minimum 3 years experience in industrial environmental compliance and/or industrial manufacturing safety, with a proven track record of successful environmental compliance and/or safety and loss control management.
