Summary: Work in a frozen food warehouse environment packing samples and orders to be sent via air freight to various companies around the country.

NOTE: This position will be located in a facility in Tacoma, WA.

Essential Functions: 

  1. Must be able to touch, smell and feel all known food allergens.
  2. Uses computer to enter records
  3. Reviews workspace for cleanliness and safety
  4. Must be able to work in minus 5 degrees F with proper PPE
  5. Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
  6. Must be able to operate a forklift
  7. Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels
  8. Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device.
  9. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or writes identifying shipping information on cartons.
  10. Assembles and packs product in wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers.
  11. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  12. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  13. Sorts and organizes materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size or type.
  14. Records amounts of materials received or distributed and performs physical inventories/cycle counting ingredients and packaging as necessary.

Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Requirements


Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must be forklift certified, or able to become forklift certified.
  • May require valid Driver’s License.

Experience in similar food industry warehouse positions preferred.

Special Training/Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Possess knowledge of warehousing and Inventory systems (bar coding/scanning).

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Mental Activities:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use teamwork skills and understand English. The employee is occasionally required to use interpersonal and customer service skills and read and write English.
