Job Summary: The primary focus of this position is to manage the Trident Seafoods Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), ensuring security, data integrity, required functionality, reporting and configuration according to complex business needs. This role develops, implements, and modifies system requirements. The HRIS Manager also coordinates system upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as assigned. This position is based in our Seattle (Ballard neighborhood) offices. Occasional travel will be required.

Essential Functions:

  1. Manage the review, testing and implementation of HR, Payroll, Performance Management, Learning and Benefits system for new/changes in functionality, upgrades and patches.
  2. Provide production support, including researching and resolving issues, unexpected results or process flaws. Make recommendations on best practices. Identify, discuss and mitigate risks in process flows, user error or system bugs whenever possible.
  3. Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries across all HRIS platforms. Develop standard and custom reports for ongoing customer needs. Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries, identifying issues and working with HR and/or managers to resolve.
  4. Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation on HRIS systems, including mobile applications, for employees, managers and HR teams. Train new system users. Develop relationships with HR/Office/Vessel staff to facilitate open communication regarding issue resolution and training needs. Implement company-wide train-the-trainer programs.
  5. Research, recommend and implement system changes and process improvements. Partner with IT and HR leadership on prioritizing systems requirements and enhancements.
  6. Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors, ensuring their performance standards and contractual obligations are met.
  7. Serve as internal consultant to management team on system requirements and business needs.
  8. Provide support for ongoing projects such as open enrollment, salary review cycles, wage updates, ACA year end reporting, entitlement changes, etc. 
  9. Review, update, and establish HRIS processes and procedures.
  10. Document company HRIS configuration and all changes.
  11. Ensure that internal controls are established and functioning to ensure employee and system privacy and security.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  1. Serve as key liaison between IT and HR.
  2. Supports and maintains data interfaces for HR, Payroll, Learning and Benefits.
  3. Serves as the technical point-of-contact with 3rd party vendors.
  4. Perform needs analysis of work flows and implement technical updates to reduce manual processes.
  5. Must have knowledge of relevant federal and state regulatory requirements.
  6. Maintains awareness of current HR technology trends and recommends best-practices.

Minimum Requirements


Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.
  2. Ability to maintain strong vendor relations.

  5. Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  6. Knowledge of payroll, benefits and human resource practices.

5+ years HRIS experience.

Knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce preferred.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field. (May substitute additional experience for degree.)

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CPP or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
