Summary

The Plant General Manager directs and coordinates production activities to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

This position is based out of Trident's facilities in Carrollton, GA.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures a safe working environment is provided and maintained
  • Fosters a Continuous Improvement Culture in the plant and with all associates
  • Operates with an emphasis on delivery of organizational goals
  • Oversees the activities concerned with the production and distribution of product.
  • Plans, develops, and implements department policies and goals.
  • Analyzes budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and allocate operating budget.
  • Confers with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required.
  • Directs preparation of directives outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented.
  • Promotes organization in industry, manufacturing or trade associations.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings

Minimum Requirements

 

Experience / Education:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience running a large-scale production facility with total P&L responsibility
  • 4-year college or university program certificate; or 2-4 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Special Training/Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception.

Mental Activities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use decision making, independent judgment, discretion and teamwork skills. The employee will occasionally use interpersonal and customer service skills. Reading, writing, speaking and understanding English is required.
