Trident Seafoods is seeking a motivated Sr. Tax Analyst to join our expanding team.  This person would be responsible for supporting the Tax Sr. Manager by assisting with tax preparation, reporting, tax planning and tax process design and implementation. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and develop professionally within North America’s largest global seafood company.

The Sr Tax Analyst will be responsible for Corporate Tax functions including federal, state and local income tax return compliance, monthly sales and use tax reporting, property tax filings, and various forms of detailed tax research.  This role will also play an integral role in building out processes within the accounting department to better facilitate tax strategies. 

The ideal candidate will have solid direct tax skills with an emphasis on passthrough taxation and an overall comfort with indirect tax. Experience training inexperienced tax professionals or non-tax professionals is also highly beneficial for this position.

Tax Functions:

  • Manage, prepare and/or review federal and state corporate income tax workpapers
  • Assist with the preparation/review of various sales and use taxes, excise taxes, and property tax filings
  • Perform tax research on federal and state tax issues as requested
  • Perform and/or oversee routine monthly and quarterly procedures including account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, account analysis and maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Assist in preparing the Company's quarterly tax estimates.
  • Assist with other ad hoc projects

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting or a related field
  • Advanced degree in tax, accounting, or related field preferred; CPA preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience in tax, internal audit or accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel with an eye for workpaper automation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a highly dynamic environment and the ability to work with flexibility, efficiency and diplomacy both individually and as part of a complex team effort
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, in positions requiring communication with a broad and diverse audience
