Description

 

 

Summary:  The Equipment Development Technician will assist the research team in developing, testing, and implementing new technologies to manufacturing lines, including fish processing equipment, packaging, labeling equipment, conveyance, pumps, separation technology, and automation technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists the research team by serving as an onsite project manager to install and test prototype equipment.
  • Tracks and records performance indicators for new and prototype equipment. 
  • Assists with the installation of re-engineered equipment in manufacturing plants.
  • Develops, tracks, and reports on KPI’s for Research and Development projects.
  • Learns and utilizes Trident’s Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system, including requisition and asset management programs.
  • Provides training to other employees as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned based on the plant operational and management needs

Minimum Requirements

 

 

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing equipment maintenance, preferably with direct experience in seafood processing equipment, fabrication, and industrial electrical power systems.

Education:

  • Associates Degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance or a combination of education and directly related experience.

Qualifications:

  • Must have good mechanical skills and be able to multi-task with managerial skills to direct crews.

Preferred Training and Skills:

  • Proficient with reading mechanical and electrical blueprints and strong organizational and analytical skills to solve problems.
