Summary:

The Senior Manager - Global Supply Planning will lead the Supply Planning process for certain species at Trident Seafoods (Fishing Company). The role is responsible for owning the Production and Inventory plans in the company’s upstream operations which is critical to supporting direct sales and the ‘Value Added’ business in US, Europe, and Japan. The role is a key stakeholder in Global S&OP and margin maximization decisions for Trident.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, and maintains an effective capacity and production planning process by balancing plant utilization/cost and inventory while delivering superior customer service.
  • Leads Supply Planning improvement initiatives (schedule optimization) and proactively manages projects (timelines and delivery) to improve efficiency and longer-term planning
  • Identifies supply risks and develops mitigation plans and recommendations for corrective action to secure supply and service levels.
  • Identifies and communicates constraints that may impact the achievement of the business demand.
  • Utilizes a collaborative and consensus approach to obtain and align on accurate information for supply planning.
  • Develops Demand – Supply gap assessment and provides required inputs to P&L team for taking buy-sell decisions.
  • Owns and manages the Supply planning excel tools and provide inputs to continuously improve their performance.
  • Prepares and maintains relevant reports on supply planning – production plans, production adherence reports, and inventory quality tracking
  • Leads Weekly/Monthly supply reviews and actively participates in the Global S&OP process.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Provides guidance to the DSX system (current planning system) team on continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provides guidance to SAP Supply Planning leads on SAP IBP S&OP implementation (future planning system)
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions 
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings

Minimum Requirements

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in CPG or Food industry in the areas of supply planning, production planning and S&OP

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Engineering/Mathematics required
  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain or Business Management preferred

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required. Must enjoy and be proficient in working with numbers and mining for insights
  • Excellent Excel skills required: Power-pivots, Optimization modelling
  • Experience working in popular Supply Planning tools (SAP/Oracle etc.) preferred
