Summary:

The Warehouse Manager oversees all activities around purchased materials and finished goods in support of maintenance, engineering, and operations to include assessment of supply and demand, shipping and receiving, inventory counts and loss management, quality control, and oversight of Asset Management System. This position will manage Inventory, Warehouse and Shipping and Receiving teams and will be based out of Trident’s facilities in Carrollton, GA.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Warehouse & Inventory Management

  • Manages inventory of purchased indirect materials used in support of plant maintenance, engineering and operations.
  • Drives continuous improvement – Works with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities for improvement and develop/implement best practices/routines.
  • Recommends process changes to minimize inventory loss.
  • Implements and monitors Key Performance Indicators and leads continuous improvement initiatives for improving area performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and influence – Identifies and resolves root causes of inventory losses, working with cross-functional partners to problem solve and implement preventive measures.
  • Manages reclamation of vendor quality issues and coordinates with buyers to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Coordinates and manages daily and perpetual physical cycle counting cadence.
  • Monitors and reviews daily inventory adjustments and changes and creates reports as requested.
  • Resolves inventory issues / discrepancies, problem orders and intercompany transfer issues. 
  • Analyzes significant cycle count adjustments to identify root causes and to recommend counter measures.
  • Analyzes and reports on inventory activities, cycle count process, changes and variances, including trends and root cause analysis.
  • Controls inventory slotting to of items in pick locations to ensure maximized pick efficiency.
  • Consolidates reserve racks for optimization and utilization of space.
  • Insures replenishment teams are accurately completing tasks.
  • Maintains and enhances Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Infor to optimize inventory control procedures while staying compliant with all regulatory agencies.
  • Examines the levels of supplies and raw material to determine shortages.
  • Monitors demand and analyze data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs.
  • Reports on inventory levels, supply chain progress and procedural efficiency as requested.

 

Shipping and Receiving Management

  • Oversees receiving and all warehouse activities to make sure work meets quality standards and is performed according to established procedures.
  • Ensures the receipt, coordination, and safety of goods coming through the warehouse.
  • Directs and prioritizes the daily activities of Material Handlers and Shipping/Receiving personnel.
  • Assists with the development, revision and enforcement of inventory management and procedures including record keeping, work instructions, ISO procedures, and other standard operational and work practices as necessary.
  • Operates lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment to safely move parts to proper locations and load and unload steel trucks as necessary.
  • Oversees the receipt of purchased goods verifying counts and quality, completes transactions to receive product, processes paperwork and completes all necessary transactions according to established procedures. Locates product to the appropriate areas according to procedure.
  • Ensures incoming freight is inspected, documented and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Visually monitors inventory levels and communicate low levels to buyers, schedulers, and others as necessary.
  • Uses EAM Infor system for all shipping and receiving functions. Ensures shipments and material received through the EAM Infor system are scanned and processed.
  • Maintains packaging inventory and order materials needed for the shipping area.
  • Completes inventory transactions to receive, assigns to a Bin location and issues inventory as required.
  • Ensures product is delivered on time, to the appropriate destinations, and in the expected quantities.
  • Ensures QC of all goods prior to leaving the warehouse.
  • Manages the delivery schedule of shipments. Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.

 

Team Management

  • Oversees labor planning and scheduling of inventory control and Warehouse staff – ensures all warehouse and inventory activities are completed timely, utilizing all personnel effectively. Includes prioritizing and delegating ad hoc requests in cooperation with operations personnel.
  • Leads, develops and mentors team, manages performance, completes evaluations according to Trident procedures and ensures adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Works with HR and Plant Management to resolve personnel and performance issues and determine course of action. 
  • Ensures compliance to legal regulations and company policies.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions. 
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental and safety incidents, or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and or Safety training.
  • Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

 

Job Requirements

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a production environment with duties that include shipping and receiving, warehouse and inventory management, maintenance and work order management.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience managing and developing a team.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school, or equivalent education and related experience.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is considered a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). 
  • Prior experience with inventory management systems strongly preferred, experience with Enterprise Asset Management system with Infor a plus.
  • Experience with MRP and/or SAP is a plus.
